  I stayed about 2 weeks and it's a decent "home" away from home. Ideal location in the central though not walking distance from train station, it's still accessible in many ways. If you want to head to Orchard, there is a straight bus 124. If you want to go to Bugis, take bus 145 or 130. Novena MRT station is not that far, take bus 21 or 131 and you will get there. Opposite the residence, there is a mall called Shaw Plaza or you can take a 10 minutes walk to Zhongshan Mall area. There are many restaurants and food centre along Balestier or a walk to Whampoa Food Centre. If you are a foodie, do explore the area. You can find famous old school bakery in the neighbourhood.

The room is clean and there are 3 days in a week there is cleaning of the room. A small kitchenette which come with simple cutlery, fridge, washing sponge, kettle, etc. There is washing machine and washing powder is provided if you need it.

For some reason, there was a smell at level 4 lift lobby, level I stayed. Dragging of chair from above can be heard. Thing can be improved and good to have, like foldable drying rack for laundry, a more eco-friendly stay with recycling bin and provide the disposal toothbrush, etc upon request. Other than that, all good from me as a local staying-in.

  Overall my stay here has been super good. Location is great. Opposite initial residence is Shaw plaza where you can find almost everything you need. And there is a theatre to watch midnight movies too. Public transport is super convenient. Novena is few stops away. Direct bus to orchard road. Neighborhood is surrounded by different eateries, local, Asian and western cuisines. Local wet market is within walking distance.

  Stayed in Initial Residence for 14 days. Joe Ng, Manager is extremely friendly, approachable and provides excellent service. The reception staff, and housekeeping manager are also friendly and provided great service.

Service apartment ambience is good, accommodation is homely, and is a home from home. There is a refrigerator, washing machine and stove if you need access to such convenience.

Location is perfect with Shaw Plaza just opposite, a shopping mall with a NTUC supermarket, a cinema, various food outlets including fast food, western, Japanese, Coffee Bean.

There is also a Whampoa hawker centre nearby accessible by taking a bus inside (bus number 21, 131, 186) if you want to try local food.

Nearby shopping malls like Velocity, Novena, Square 2 are accessible by buses just outside the service apartment. You can also take a train from Novena MRT station to Orchard for a shopping spree

  Good location, clean room and super friendly & helpful people.

Although it's not so close to any MRT but taking bus to many places is very convenience. Too many great food nearby with a large Whampoa hawker center within walking distance.

The condo type of 1 bedroom with sofa bed is just too comfortable for us. Full kitchen with microwave, washing machine etc are just too good.

Only 2 suggestion for improvements to have a more quiet stay will be the door sealer put below the main door, so if anyone walking at the lift area will not be too noisy. The other main noise issue is the chair, when guest or house keeping drag the chair is just too loud consider the tiles flooring and rubber base of the chair.....suggest either change all the chairs or get noisy reducer to stick of the chair's leg.....or get small carpet to place on the area whereby the chairs will be.

Overall is a great and enjoyable stay for our family in The Initial Residence. We hope to be back again soon.
